I have a GROWTH MINDSET

I have created a mindset goal and motto on bunting.

Growth Mindset

"Do what is right not what is easy"

To me this mindset means....
Do the right thing even if its hard - Stand up and do whats right

I could use this mind set when...
My friends are mean to somebody - I have a choice to either be friends with mean people or go with the lonely.

The Big Weird Robot

I am learning to write about what happens before, during and after an event.




It was the year 2118, there was a 11 year old boy called Max, he read the newspaper one day and found something interesting. Warning! He read, a robot has broken out of an inventor’s workshop, police are trying to find him so if you do please call 911. “What does that mean?” he said as he threw it away.




The next morning Max was getting out of his bedroom. “Shhhhhhhhhhhhh” Max said to himself as he crept out the bedroom to watch TV, he knew if he got caught he’d have to sleep with his mum and dad which felt like torture to him. As soon as he made it to his living room someone was knocking on the door “oh no” he thought as he hid behind a couch. He wondered what happened but as he looked outside he saw It was a big, weird, red ROBOT.




He ran around the room silently screaming because he wanted no one to here.

After he stopped and he thought what he should do: tell mum and dad or go outside or see what it wants. He chose: see what it wants.

Max tiptoed into the hall, he got to the door and as he opened the door he shouted “Go Away!” and slammed the door behind him.

Max thought it was sad yelling at him so he opened the door and said sorry to him, he didn’t know why but he thought it was good to say that.

Once he was brave enough he went outside and asked what it wanted. The robot slowly popped a sign that said oil.




Max felt dumb as he walked to his dad’s shed but as soon as he got there, there was two kinds of oil and because he’s 8 he didn’t really understand which one to get so he got the one that said explodes in 3 days.

As soon as he filled up the robot, the robot gave him something as they said goodbye : “A gear? Oh well”

The following week Max read the newspaper…. Sydney tourists saw a big red robot coming out of the water and as soon It got to the surface it popped!




Max went to his dad and asked him when he get the oils, “1 day ago,” he said.



He realised what he had done as he went to his room and cried but then he remembered The gear and then he started building back the robot by memory, some things went wrong like him getting electrified, his shirt getting burnt and him getting thrown in a bouncy castle but when he turned 41 he finished without anything bad but that’s what he thought. Soon it broke out of his lab! He called the police “help! Help! My robot has escaped,“ but then he remembered when he was 11 the same thing happened so then he told the police “it’s okay” and then the same thing happened every 30 years until 5118.
